FAST CAT COMING TO THE

2019 BTCA NATIONAL SPECIALTY

“It’s the 100 Yard Dash for Dogs!”

 

     For the first time at a BTCA National Specialty, Border Terriers are invited to join in the fun known as the AKC Fast Coursing Ability Test “FCAT.” Two tests will be offered on Tuesday, June 11, using the concurrent format. In the concurrent format, dogs will take their first run, and then within 30 minutes, they’ll be scheduled for their second run. The running order will be flexible to enable dogs to participate in the many events of the day. Entries will be accepted beginning Monday, April 1, 2019, using the First Received entry method. Border Terriers will have priority entry until pre-entries close on Wednesday, May 15, when entries will be open to all breeds if the event is not full. We expect the event to fill, so do not wait to enter.

 

• Great exercise and fun. Dogs love it!

• Lure coursing expert Don Adams will direct the set up and operate the lure.

• Flexible scheduling using concurrent format to accommodate other Specialty events.

• Conveniently located on the Pheasant Run grounds, 5 minutes from the hotel.

• Priority entry for Border Terriers until May 15.

• Single line drag (your dog never runs over the line) and doubled fenced area.

• Many awards, including the Speedy Paws Award for the fastest run by a Border Terrier

The FCAT event field is located 5 minutes from the Pheasant Run Hotel at the southeast corner of the grounds,

just beyond the golf course. The large field is fenced, and the FCAT running lane will be enclosed with additional snow fencing.
